Hammer drilling drives the casing with a diesel pile hammer, eliminating the need for rotation and allowing the accurate recovery of soil and rocks. When used in combination with the dual wall method, the hammer drill allows soil, rock and cobbles to be recovered intact without conventional grinding or crushing. This provides continuous and accurate geologic samples. Cross contamination is minimized by combining drilling and casing into one operation. Penetration rates are high, significantly reducing field engineering time. Continuous Sampling ensures that no critical formations such as soft seams, organic layers, and loose, unconsolidated sands, gravel and boulder formations are missed.
