Fabrication and Machining
Layne has been an active and innovative presence in the water infrastructure market for over 100 years. Over the years, Layne has developed advanced capabilities in water sourcing, water treatment and system construction.
Building upon this expertise we have established the Layne Water Technologies lead fabrication and machining facility, located in Lakeland, Florida. This facility fabricates Layne water treatment components and systems while maintaining the highest standards in system manufacturing methods and quality control.
Our fully equipped 40,000 square foot fabrication and machining center allows Layne engineers and fabrication personnel to design and produce unique water treatment components and integrated systems. And, with our capabilities, we are able to create products requiring very low engineering tolerances and utilizing advanced water treatment technologies.
We are certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as well as the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and maintain U, R and NB code stamp authorization. All of our welders are certified to ASME and American Welding Society (AWS) qualified welding procedures.
Our decades of combined engineering, fabrication and machining experience within the Lakeland facility also enable us to provide turnkey design, manufacture and assembly services to other industries in need of high quality components at a reasonable cost.
Machining – We offer an industrial job shop with a wide range of state of the art CNC machining equipment for any operation, including mills, lathes, vertical turret lathes, horizontal boring mills and more.
Fabrication – Our facility can support light to heavy industrial projects with fully certified welders as well as bending, shaping, rolling and forming operations to meet custom project requirements.
Heat Treating, Plating and Metalizing – Functions performed for all ferrous and non-ferrous steels and alloys.
Inspection – Qualified and certified third party NDE including Radiography, Digital Radiography, Ultrasonic, Phased Array, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Eddy Current and Visual Examinations. We also employ a full time AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Material Handling – With 34 foot eaves and 6 bridge cranes with capacities of 10 tons each, we are able to physically handle nearly any raw material or finished product.
