Layne's HydroPhysical Logging (HpL) is used for evaluating interval specific permeability and water quality. The entire aquifer is tested as one unit, which allows for sensitive and accurate assessments during both pumping and ambient conditions in either open or completed wells. In HpL, borehole fluids are diluted using deionized water while changes in fluid electrical conductivity (FEC) and temperature are monitored.
